PLDT wants tie-ups with Singapore and the US

Philippine long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) is involved in talks with telcos in Singapore (M1 and StarHub) and the US over possible joint ventures. PLDT hopes that the agreements will enable it to operate as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in the two countries, which both have a large Filipino population. It says it could launch as early as mid-2005.
