Primus dumps Telstra for Optus

17 Mar 2005

Australia’s fourth largest fixed line telco, Primus, has signed a wholesale deal with Optus to sell mobile services to its 700,000 business customers over Optus’ nationwide GSM network. In the process, Primus has dumped its long-standing mobile deal it had held with Telstra, after two failed attempts at building a mobile customer base over Telstra’s CDMA and GSM networks. Primus plans to launch contract mobile services by May this year, with a pre-paid offering to follow later in the year.
