Denmark set to re-auction UMTS licence?

14 Mar 2005

Denmark’s Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Helge Sander, said last week that the re-auction of the country’s fourth 3G mobile licence should happen ‘as soon as possible’, according to press reports. Orange Denmark was awarded the concession in 2001 but was subsequently taken over by TeliaSonera, which returned the extra licence last year. Rival cellco Sonofon has indicated its interest in acquiring an UMTS licence.
