Algérie Télécom’s wholly owned mobile arm Mobilis has awarded a contract to build out its GSM network in western Algeria to Chinese vendor ZTE. The announcement follows ZTE’s statement earlier in the year that it is to provide a national CDMA network in Algeria, plus reports that it is partnering local technology provider Inatel to open a facility to manufacture fixed/wireless terminals and other equipment.
