Telkom ordered to restore VoIP

7 Mar 2005

State-owned operator Telkom Kenya has been ordered by the Communications Commission of Kenya to restore voice over internet protocol (VoIP) services to local company ISP Kenya. Telkom suspended the company’s Sema calling card service – which offered customers affordable rates for international calls – last month, but the regulator has accused it of being anti-competitive and taking the law into its own hands.
