Motorola to up investment in Brazil

Motorola Industrial, the Brazilian networks unit of US-based Motorola, has announced plans to invest around USD5 million in the country over the next three years. It plans to develop new applications for both mobile and fixed line operators, as well as continue the development of its SoftSwitch technology. The investment is part of Motorola’s Technology Development Program in Brazil which was established in 1997. The company has already invested over USD175 million in the initiative.
