Deutsche Telekom signs up 5.8 Million DSL customers

Deutsche Telekom (DT) has announced that it finished 2004 with 5.8 million DSL lines in Germany, up 1.8 million in the year. In the fourth quarter alone, DT activated 628,000 new broadband connections. The annual figures include 246,000 DSL lines re-sold to competitors by its domestic fixed line division T-Com. Germany as a whole had just under seven million broadband lines at the end of the year, according to regulator RegTP.
