3 Mar 2005

Indian telco Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL) yesterday announced that its British subsidiary VSNL UK has launched a wholesale voice service to meet the high demand for voice traffic to India from the UK. VSNL told the Bombay Stock Exchange that the service forms part of its international voice expansion plan; it hopes to have signed 60 carrier interconnectivity agreements by the end of March 2005, and added that businesses in 18 other countries are now using VSNL UK for calls to India. The company has a strategic partnership in place with Interoute, using its virtual voice network to provide next generation services via both TDM and VoIP technologies.
