Government to auction GSM and 3G licences

Malta’s telecoms regulator, the MCA, has revealed plans to offer a third GSM licence in the country, as well as several 3G concessions. The MCA has published documents detailing its plans, which foresee spectrum availability for three operators. It will invite applications for the concessions in the next few days and hopes to have completed the process by mid-2005.
