Telemar to launch new dial up ISP

Brazilian telco Telemar, owner of mobile operator Oi, has revealed plans to invest BRL10 million (USD3.85 million) in the launch of a new dial up internet service provider (ISP). The new company, which is expected to be up and running by the middle of 2005 and to have signed up a million subscribers by the end of 2006, will provide internet services using the banner Oi Internet. The dial up service will be free and will offer users email storage of up to 300MB.
