Telkom and Telekom launch new fibre-optic network

PT Telkomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) and Telekom Malaysia have jointly launched a fibre-optic network running under the sea and linking Dumai and Riau in Indonesia with Melaka in Malaysia. The two invested USD11 million into the network – named the Dumai Melaka Cable System (DMCS) – which is 150km long and has an installed capacity of 20Gbps.
