16 Feb 2005

Australia’s Labour government has revealed that dropping plans to sell its 51.8% stake in incumbent telco Telstra could save it around AUD225.5 million (USD200 million) between 2004 and 2008. Labour has always been opposed to the privatisation of Telstra, which has been on the cards for several months. A decision on whether the stake sale will take place has yet to be made.
