Pelephone launches VoIP-based PTT service

16 Feb 2005

Pelephone has launched a push-to-talk (PTT) service, as part of its wider strategy to broaden its portfolio of services aimed specifically at the business market. The service, which was actually scheduled to be launched six months ago but was delayed because of quality of service fears, will operate over Pelephone’s CDMA 1x network. Handsets are being supplied by Motorola, whose V65 model is being offered for NIS39.9 a month for a minimum 36 month period. The PTT package will cost a further NIS16-NIS18 a month; airtime will cost NIS0.36 per minute.
