Vodafone KK to trial 3.5G

15 Feb 2005

Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued Vodafone KK with a licence to conduct trials for High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) technology using experimental radio stations. The operator will begin the tests today in the 2GHz frequency band in the Tokyo Metropolitan area. It hopes the new technology will enable it to offer faster speeds over its 3G network.
