Anatel reveals plans for new regulations

10 Feb 2005

Mexico’s telecoms industry association Anatel has revealed plans to develop a new policy for technologies such as voice-over-IP (VoIP), WiMax and Power Line Communications (PLC) sometime this year. It said that as these technologies become increasingly popular, new regulation is needed to address issues which may crop up. The country’s telecoms regulator Cofetel is currently studying the regulatory implications of the technologies, but has not set a timetable for publishing any new rules.
