Belarusian mobile operator BelCel says it has signed up around 100,000 subscribers to its CDMA2000 network, since launching the service on 6 February 2003. The operator has invested more than USD28 million into CDMA development over the last two years, deploying 101 base stations and commissioning 150 service centres in 30 Belarusian cities. In 2005 BelCel hopes to roll out a further 97 base stations and expand network coverage to 68% of the territory. It is also planning to launch EV-DO and BREW-based services.
