Singaporean mobile operator StarHub has announced the signing of a strategic alliance with Japan’s NTT DoCoMo to launch the latter’s proprietary mobile internet platform i-mode by the fourth quarter of this year. Under the deal, StarHub will offer i-mode services over its 2.5G and 3G networks with DoCoMo supporting the launch with product support, patents, branding, technical expertise and marketing. As a result of the agreement, i-mode will be available in 22 countries and regions through 14 operators.
