Telstra to trial ADSL transmission booster

1 Feb 2005

Aussie telco Telstra has announced the start of a three month trial of a booster designed to extend coverage of its ADSL footprint into rural areas. The trial will see a device fitted to a number of Telstra’s exchanges, which will boost the ADSL transmission range from four to 20km. If the trial is deemed successful, and the technology adopted, Telstra’s ADSL coverage could rise to 90% from the current 85%.
