Wireless subscriptions double in 2004

According to the Belarussian Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPT), there were 2.45 million wireless subscribers at the end of 2004, up from 1.11 million twelve months earlier; the ministry expects the figure to rise to 5.5 million by end 2010. At the same date the number of fixed line connections stood at 3.175 million, with 245,000 expected to be added in 2005.
