Emirates-based telco Etisalat is reported to be keen to ramp up its international investments, and is looking to enter a number of Asian and African markets in 2005. As it stands Etisalat is an investor in a forthcoming GSM network in Tanzania as well as a fixed line network in Sudan, via its participation in the Kanartel consortium. Etisalat is also planning its wireless debut in Saudi Arabia, where it is expected to launch in March with coverage of 14 cities.
