Telcos should use cable networks, says regulator

According to local newspaper El Universal, Mexican telcos would generate an extra MXN8.45 billion (USD745 million) in revenues if they were allowed to provide services over the networks of the country’s cable operators. The Ministry of Transport and Communications (Secretario de Comunicaciones y Transportes – SCT) has backed up the claim, saying that access to the cable networks would give telecoms operators an additional addressable market of 4.4 million users.
