5 Jan 2005

Hutchison 3G has expanded the coverage of its next-generation mobile network to include all 14 stations and connecting tunnels on the Island Line of Hong Kong’s MTR underground railway system. The company has also added 3G microsites at other selected MTR stations and is aiming to provide full coverage of the rail system by August. The company says it currently offers 99% population coverage in Hong Kong’s densely populated areas. Hutchison had around 200,000 3G customers from a total of 1.85 million subscribers at the end of September.
