21 Dec 2004

UK telecoms giant BT has signed up a million new ADSL customers in just four months to reach a total of four million broadband subscribers. The company has been connecting around 60,000 new users a week – at least one new connection every ten seconds, according to BT’s chief executive, Ben Verwaayen. BT now looks likely to surpass its target of five million wholesale DSL lines in the country by 2006.
