Telecoms market opening delayed

16 Dec 2004

Nicaragua’s national assembly has delayed the opening of the country’s telecoms market, which had been scheduled for 18 December 2004, according to BNamericas. The government’s decision to postpone the liberalisation is believed to stem from complaints from union managers at incumbent telco Enitel, which claim that there is unrest amongst employees caused by the impending changes.
