Reliance Infocomm reveals ambitious expansion plans

Indian cellco Reliance Infocomm yesterday revealed plans for a large scale network expansion in the state of Andhra Pradesh, covering 295 new towns and all 23 state districts. The rollout forms part of the operator’s ongoing INR25 billion expansion programme for the country.

At the end of September 2004, Reliance Infocomm claimed a total of 940,000 subscribers, around 800,000 of them in Andhra Pradesh. The company said that it aimed to reach a customer base of a million in the state soon.
