Telkom to invest more than USD1.5 billion next year

Indonesia’s dominant operator PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) has said that it plans to invest IDR14 trillion in 2005 (USD1.55 billion) to expand its operations, up from IDR10 trillion this year. The company is hoping the increased investment will allow it to sign six million new cellular subscribers, 400,000 new fixed line users and 1.5 million new customers to its fixed-line/mobile hybrid service, Flexi. Telkom’s is aiming for a 20% hike in revenues from this year’s anticipated returns of IDR32.5 trillion.
