Telmex reports further expansion plans

Mexican telco Telmex plans to spend USD450 million on its international operations in 2005, according to a report in BNamericas. The company’s investments in foreign assets this year are estimated at USD900 million, with the majority of expenditure in South American countries. Telmex reported that its domestic investments next year will total USD2.05 billion, up 10% on 2004, to meet its yearly target of increasing the number of fixed lines in service in Mexico by 8-9%.
