Heisei Denden to sue Softbank

30 Nov 2004

Japanese telecoms carrier Heisei Denden (HD), which offers cheap fixed line services using NTT’s network, has filed litigation aimed at stopping Japan Telecom from launching its own cheap phone service. The company claims that Japan Telecom’s parent, Softbank Corp, acquired the know-how to launch the cut-price service from talks held with HD over a possible acquisition earlier this year. Softbank and Japan Telecom have denied the allegations, claiming that they developed the new service in house.
