Polkomtel’s profits up

Polish cellco Polkomtel has reported net profits of PLN665 million (USD182 million) for the three month to the end of September 2004, a rise of 22% on the corresponding period of 2003, on revenues of PLN4.24 billion, up from PLN3.86 billion. However, EBITDA declined by 5% year-on-year to PLN1.47 billion, and average revenue per subscriber fell slightly to PLN75 per month. Polkomtel, which offers services under the Plus GSM banner, is the smallest of Poland’s three mobile operators, with 5.99 million subscribers at the end of June 2004, a market share of 30.6%.
