Colombian carriers’ carrier Internexa expects to report a 21.2% rise in revenues to COP63 billion (USD24.7 million) in 2004, from COP52 billion previously. The company recorded its first profit in 2003 and is confident of continuing the trend despite a fall in wholesale rates. The carrier invested COP10 billion this year and has set aside a similar sum for 2005 as it looks to expand network capacity on certain routes. Internexa is also exploring the possibility of international expansion to Venezuela through an agreement with a local carrier, possibly CVG Telecomunicaciones. It already has links to Ecuador through a strategic tie-up with state utility Transelectric.
