GT steps up network rollout

According to AllAfrica.com Ghana Telecom (GT) has announced that it has increased the number of lines available in the Ashanti region from 33,800 to 83,160 in twelve months. The improvements are part of a GT’s strategy of rolling out its network to remote parts of the country using various technologies including fixed wireless access. GT is a limited liability company owned by the government (70%) and Telekom Malaysia™ which, through its subsidiaries – including G-Com (a Ghanaian company 85% owned by TM) – owns approximately 30% of the shares in GT.
