Belgacom chairman resigns

18 Oct 2004

The Financial Times is reporting that the Chairman of Belgacom, Jan Coene, has resigned amid mounting pressure over corporate governance during his period in charge at another company, Picanol. Yesterday it emerged that Mr Coene received a large signing bonus from Picanol, a textiles manufacturer, that was not reported to the company’s executive pay committee. Mr Coene’s successor has been named as Theo Dilissen, the former helmsman of the Real Software Group.
