13 Oct 2004

South Korea’s SK Telecom (SKT) and NTT DoCoMo of Japan have announced plans to jointly develop mobile banking services in the Asia-Pacific region. The two have established a consultation group to explore the possibility of delivering m-banking roaming services in each others’ home market. The Japanese cellco currently offers a mobile settlement service called Felica, but the two Asian heavyweights hope to create new models based around e-cash application services.
