NWM launches PoC

4 Oct 2004

Hong Kong’s mobile phone subscribers are set to get their first taste of push-to-talk over cellular (PoC) services following the introduction of an offering based on the technology by New World Mobility (NWM). Incorporating GPRS, push-to-talk allows instant multiple connections between users in areas covered by the service provider’s network. NWM has introduced three handsets capable of supporting the service, all of which are built by Nokia, with more to be introduced in the run-up to the busy Christmas period.
