The Danish regulator Telestyrelsen has given TeliaSonera until the end of January 2005 to decide what to do with the 3G licence it acquired when it bought Orange Denmark earlier this year. The operator won a 3G concession of its own in 2001, but bought Orange Denmark from France Télécom earlier this year, gaining an extra UMTS licence in the process. The operator has the opportunity to sell the concession to the highest bidder, but the regulator has said it will take it back if a decision is not made by the deadline.
