W-CDMA users pass ten million mark

The UMTS Forum has confirmed that there are now more than ten million W-CDMA mobile users worldwide. Speaking at the Australian Mobile Telecommunication Association (AMTA) Congress in Sydney, UMTS Forum Chairman Jean-Pierrre Bienaimé said that the milestone was passed earlier this month and that he expected to see the number of live UMTS networks worldwide reach 70 by the end of the year.
