UPC launches VoIP

UPC has revealed plans to launch voice over internet protocol (VoIP) services to its 2.4 million cable customers in the Netherlands. The operator will charge EUR14.95 per month for a subscription offering unlimited calls during off-peak hours to fixed numbers, and EUR9.95 a month for a basic service which doesn’t include any unlimited calling. UPC will launch a trial service in October to 660 customers in Rotterdam, with the commercial introduction planned for the following month.
