Two new mobile licences up for grabs

15 Sep 2004

The government of Trinidad and Tobago is set to offer two new mobile licences to introduce the first cellular competition for the incumbent player TSTT. The Telecoms Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) will conduct a two-stage licensing process. The first stage will evaluate the financial backing and the business plans of candidates, with those that make it through entering the auction proper. Spectrum will be made available in both the 800MHz and 1900MHz ranges. TSTT currently operates both analogue and digital in the country.
