Centennial looks to sell Puerto Rican cable unit

8 Sep 2004

US-based Centennial Communications has revealed plans to sell its Puerto Rican cable business to Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst for a cash payment of USD155 million. The deal is currently awaiting regulatory approval, but is expected to be completed by the start of 2005. The cable unit has around 73,000 subscribers and 5,000 broadband internet customers. Centennial says it will use the funds to pay for licences it purchased from AT&T Wireless and to cover its 2004 capex.
