HKT sale drawn to a halt

Talks between PCCW and China Netcom over the sale of PCCW’s stake in Hong Kong Telecom (HKT) have come to a standstill after the two companies disagreed over price. Before they were postponed, the talks were rumored to be at an ‘advanced stage’, but neither company has commented on whether they will be resumed. The stake is estimated to be worth HKD50 billion (USD6.4 billion).
