Research shows Nokia improvement

According to new research by Gartner, Nokia has been successful in clawing back market share in the highly competitive global handset market, taking 29.7% of sales in the second quarter of 2004 compared to 28.9% in the first three months of the year. The overall market grew 35% year-on-year to 156.4 million units, with Nokia taking business away from Siemens, Motorola and Samsung which all reported lower market shares in 2Q.
