Speednet and Nortel to rollout CDMA 1X network

Nortel Networks has been awarded an exclusive contract to supply Speednet of Belize with a new CDMA 1X wireless network. The operator, which is a relative newcomer to the market, plans to offer services to underdeveloped rural areas of Belize, providing internet access in low density areas and VPN, wireless broadband, secure corporate access and other advanced multimedia services to business customers.
