Swisscom enters TV market

25 Aug 2004

Swisscom has launched a trial 25 channel TV package to 600 homes via its Bluwin subsidiary. If successful, the company plans to rollout the service across the country in the first half of 2005. The move follows attempts by the country’s cable companies to muscle in on Swisscom’s traditional market by launching telephony services. The Bluewin service includes an integrated video recorder which allows viewers to pause and record live broadcasts using a remote control.
