Cisco says broadband growth slowing

25 Aug 2004

Broadband growth in Chile slowed to 7.7% in the second quarter of 2004 as service providers concentrated on selling lower bandwidth products, according to equipment manufacturer Cisco Systems Chile. Cisco said that broadband connection sales averaged 17,000 in the three months to the end of June, down from 30,000 twelve months earlier. There were around 350,000 broadband lines in the country at the end of June, two-thirds of which were located in the Santiago metropolitan area.
