TSTT predicts substantial mobile growth

24 Aug 2004

Trinidad and Tobago’s incumbent fixed line and mobile operator TSTT has said that it expects the country’s mobile market to double in size over the next twelve months following the introduction of competition to the sector. TSTT operates the country’s only cellular network, to which there are currently around 550,000 subscribers. In an interview with Business News Americas, TSTT’s acting CEO Bernard Mitchell said he expected the market would ultimately be able to support up to 1.2 million subscribers following the licensing of at least one more service provider in the first half of 2005.
