Vodafone to postpone Arcor sale

23 Aug 2004

The Vodafone Group will not begin the sale of its German fixed line subsidiary Arcor until at least 2005, according to The Financial Times. The newspaper claims that Vodafone has decided it does not need to risk selling the unit at a deflated price, and will wait until next year before pushing ahead with the sale. Vodafone is thought to have valued Arcor at EUR1 billion, around twice as much as a number of venture capitalists were said to be ready to offer.
