Manitoba Telecom Services (MTS) reported a loss of CAD6.7 million (USD5.09 million) in the second quarter of 2004, compared to a profit of CAD24 million in the year ago period. Revenues, however, jumped to CAD314 million in the three months ended 30 June 2004, from CAD217 million a year earlier. During 2Q MTS completed its CAD1.7 billion acquisition of Allstream (formerly known as AT&T Canadagiving the telco access to Allstream’s 19,000km fibre-optic network which serves business customers across the country.
