Impsat makes USD10 million 2Q loss

Impsat Fiber Networks has posted a USD10 million loss for the second quarter, compared to a net profit of USD22.3 million in the same period of 2003 and a loss of USD6.5 million in the first quarter of 2004. Total revenues were USD55.5 million, down 1.6% compared to 2Q 2003 but up 0.9% compared to this year’s first quarter. EBITDA rose 49% in the year to June 2004 to USD10.9 million. The company’s 2004 investment budget stands at USD37 million, much of which is destined for network and customer premises equipment in Brazil, Colombia and Peru.
