The German telecoms reseller mobilcom has posted its best ever set of half-year financial results. While the group’s turnover stood at EUR934.3 million in the six months to the end of June, up 4% on the same period last year, earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) more than quadrupled to EUR63.4 million and net profit was more than six times higher at EUR26.4 million.
The company says the main contributor to its success so far this year has been its wireless division, which brought in sales of EUR705.9 million, up 8.6% from last year. mobilcom has revised its customer target for the end of 2004 from 4.4 million to 4.5 million; it currently has around 4.2 million customers. Monthly ARPU for contract users rose by EUR1.90 to EUR30.80 when compared to the first half of 2003, while pre-paid ARPU increased by EUR1.30 to EUR7.20.
