Colombia brushes off US request for liberalisation

According to Business News Americas, the US government has called for Colombia to divest its state owned telecoms holdings and issue more licences for the sector. The Colombian authorities are reported to have responded coolly to the suggestion, stating that they have no immediate plans to sell off the state’s telecoms assets.
